Rally for Charity

The ASB classic is an annual event that ASB is a major sponsor. Our task was to leverage The ASB Classic to connect with tennis enthusiasts at the event and New Zealanders across the country.

Players rally because of their unwavering determination to win and not back down, this is also the thrill of watching a game of tennis, who will take out the winning shot?

We turned the billboard above the centre court into a digital billboard, when a rally went past ten exchanges a $10 counter started for every following shot. It showed how much was being donated to charity and was updated in real time as rallies went on to get people excited about both the point and the money given to Ronald McDonald's House charity.

The on-court activation was a hit with players and spectators, our longest rally was 41 shots, and we managed to raise a total of $18,090 for charity.

We created a logo that was a combination of the fun of tennis rallies and corporate banking.

Animation

We had three variants of animation for each time Rally for charity was activated on the digital billboard.

SKY integration

When SKY broadcast a live game, we integrated with them so when a rally for charity was activated a live feed was shown at the bottom of the tv screen. They also showed a live feed of the total money raised during the tournament.
