For April fools 2014 I created a viral video for BMW, the first-ever BMW zzz series baby cot. A premium baby cot that simulates The Ultimate Driving Machine and helps your baby get to sleep in the comfort of their nursery.
The 50-second video was created and housed on a microsite for authenticity and shared via BMW New Zealand's Facebook page. The nation's morning TV news programme also got behind the gag to fool their audience with a three-minute segment fronted by their technology reporter.
The video gained traction around the world and ended up on the best April fools list on The Telegraph, CNN, The New York Times, Fox News, Adweek, Bangkok Post, Singapore press, Dubai Chronical, News.com.au, and other reputable international news sites.

My approach designing the cot was influenced by the BMW's exterior features like the curves and angles found on the latest models, as well as the kidney grill found on the front of the vehicle.
To pull off the joke we needed authenticity, so we made a real cot to film for believability. Below are photographs of the physical cot, these photos were placed on the BMW zzz Series website..
